Capacity Focus, 72: A discussion draft first unit for an introduction to programming course for the AACCS

In beginning to develop the proposed AACCS Hello World, Java based introduction to programming course, I have found it useful to develop a first, background context unit.

The focus for the unit is:
The PC and other ICCT (Information, Communication & Control Technologies . . . e.g. computers, phones, industrial control and web-oriented multimedia) in a Caribbean context, common digital formats for information/data, cracking the box on a hardware and software information systems and networks, to motivate the need for programming for various purposes.

A draft is here

It is also available at ISSU: and at Scribd:

Thoughts on the course are welcome. END
