Matt 24 watch, 209: Glenn Beck of the US asks some pointed questions about what has been going on in the USA (and by extension our civilisation), even as signs emerge of a sleeper terrorist cell being activated in Boston, and as -- in a probably linked development --the Iran and Middle East situation spins further out of control

Mr Beck at least understands that something serious has gone wrong and needs to be addressed:

U/D Mon Apr 22 (HT, IM): Beck begins to flesh out:

Further U/D HT IM, Tue April 25, on AlHarbi:

U/D May 3, here (courtesy WND)  is a devastating snippet from the form to put Alharbi on the special Immigration and Nationality Act Section 212 (a)(3 )(B) terrorism watch list:

And in a further development reported by the UK Mirror, it looks like the FBI are looking for members of what seems to be a dozen strong terrorist cell. A particularly worrying sign is the apparent sophistication of the bombs used:
The FBI was last night hunting a 12-strong terrorist “sleeper cell” linked to the Boston marathon bomb brothers.

Police believe Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were specially trained to carry out the devastating attack.

More than 1,000 FBI operatives were last night working to track down the cell and arrested a man and two women 60 miles from Boston in the hours before Dzhokhar’s dramatic capture after a bloody shootout on Friday.

A source close to the investigation said: “We have no doubt the brothers were not acting alone. The devices used to detonate the two bombs were highly sophisticated and not the kind of thing people learn from Google.

“They were too advanced. Someone gave the brothers the skills and it is now our job to find out just who they were. Agents think the sleeper cell has up to a dozen members and has been waiting several years for their day to come.”
So, we must ask: why waiting, on whose orders and how was it decided the day has now come? Could this be linked to the sprint as Iran seeks to cross the nuclear red line?

U/D overnight: Daily Mail -- it is always a very bad sign of massive politically correct spin games and zones art work, when UK newspapers seems to make better reporting on things in the USA than many major US news organisations, as is beginning to emerge in this case . . .  --  has an update, let me clip bullet points:

  • The Boston bombers were reportedly planning more attacks across the city
  • However, the released of the photographs of the suspects 'forced them out of their hideout'
  • Footage released on Saturday shows Dzhokhar Tsranaev laying flat under a tarp in a boat. Police used a robot to pull the tarp off the boat
  • Police tracked him with thermal imaging cameras and engaged him in a furious exchange of gun-fire that began shortly after 7pm
  • Stand-off continued until 8:45pm when Tsarnaev surrendered
  • Dzhokhar has been hospitalized at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is 'intubated and sedated' and cannot yet speak
  • Tamerlan Tsarnaev had injuries from head to toe and all limbs intact when he arrived at the hospital. He died early on Friday
All this, even as Israel's Defense Minister, Ya'alon, in his Independence Day address, said that Israel may well have to go it alone in respect of dealing with Iran. According to a Jerusalem Post report:
Israel must prepare for the possibility of striking Iran’s nuclear program on its own, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon warned on Tuesday, during an Independence Day speech he delivered in Herzliya.

He said that Iran is unimpressed with the West’s steps against its nuclear program and described Tehran’s nuclear program as “the most significant” threat not only to Israel, but to the Middle East and the “modern world.”

Iran’s drive for nuclear capabilities could end in disaster, Ya’alon added.

“It could spark an arms race in the Middle East and cause nuclear weapons to spread to terror organizations. This situation could be a nightmare for the Western world,” he warned.

“The world’s response to the Iranian nuclear program was delayed. The fact that centrifuges in Iran are continuing to spin and that enriched uranium has already been collected, proves that the regime in Tehran is not impressed by these steps taken so far. Even more so, the regime in Tehran does not identify determination in the Western world to stop its nuclear project and it therefore allows itself to continue to develop it,” the defense minister continued.

“Only by placing the Iranian regime before the dilemma of having a bomb or [risking its] survival will lead to the project being stopped.

“Only a significant increase in sanctions, international isolation, assistance, as well as moral support to the repressed citizens of Iran and a credible military option, will convince the regime in Tehran that its survival is preferable to the military nuclear project,” he added.
Israel should not lead the campaign against Iran, but the Jewish state is the first target of the ayatollah regime, Ya’alon said, citing threats by Iranian rulers.

“The world must lead the campaign against Iran, but Israel must prepare for the possibility that it will have to defend itself with its own powers,” he said. (NB: IDF chief, Gantz, has expressed confidence that Israel can successfully go it alone.)

Food for thought. Chilling food for thought.

So, we need to ask ourselves -- in an age of supposedly instantly accessible global communications and allegedly oh so effective news --  just what is really going on and why have we been naively swimming in murky, shark infested waters. (For hints cf here.) END
